How it is sent.

Your server sends it with one call to the send API, when a transfer completes. The call names the template, the person and the data the email prints.

await mq.messages.send({
  channel: 'email',
  templateId: 'tpl_receipt',
  to: { userId: 'cust_90314' },
  from: 'Harbour Money <hello@mail.harbourmoney.co.uk>',
  data: { amount: 250, currency: 'GBP', reference: 'HM-77310' },
  idempotencyKey: 'receipt-HM-77310',
})

Events to send.

No event starts this email. Your server makes the call when the transfer completes. You can also send an event for the transfer.

transfer.completed
Optional. Your server can send it with track() after the transfer.

Check before you send.

  • Build the Idempotency-Key from the transfer. Use the transfer reference, so a retry never sends a second receipt.
  • Lead with the amount. Put it in the subject and the first line, in the currency the customer paid in.
  • Show at most the last four digits of an account. A receipt is kept and forwarded.
