Maqetin sends the link that sets a new password.
The email someone asks for after forgetting a password: one link, and a line for anyone who did not ask. Your server sends it through the send API.
The email.
A sample to adapt: change the names, the product and the button to yours.
Hi Sarah,
Someone asked to reset the password for your Shelfwise account. The link below works once, for 1 hour.
If it was not you, ignore this email and your password stays the same.
Reset passwordSample workspace: Shelfwise, stock and invoicing software for independent shops, based in Austin.
How it is sent.
Your server sends it with one call to the send API, when someone submits the forgotten-password form. The call names the template, the person and the data the email prints.
await mq.messages.send({
channel: 'email',
templateId: 'tpl_password_reset',
to: { userId: 'usr_2201' },
from: 'Shelfwise <hello@mail.shelfwise.app>',
data: { reset_url: 'https://app.shelfwise.app/reset?token=...', expires_in_minutes: 60 },
idempotencyKey: 'reset-usr_2201-1402',
})Events to send.
No event starts this email. Your server makes the call when the form is submitted.
Check before you send.
- Make the link and its expiry in your app. Maqetin sends the link you put in the data of the call. The token, how long it lasts and what it does once used are yours.
- Speak to the person who did not ask. Add one line that says nothing changes if they ignore the email.
- Use a sending address on a verified domain. A message from an address on a domain that is not verified for the workspace is not sent.
